I started out as an Audio and Video Technician, spending over a decade working on tours and festivals. But, as time went on, I got more and more into the creative side of things, and here we are.
In 2020, I dove into immersive installations with TouchDesigner, and by 2022, I was deep into creating 3D animations with Blender.
These days, I use Blender to whip up product animations and design visuals for corporate events—basically, the kind of stuff that gets blasted on huge LED walls.
With TouchDesigner, I get to nerd out on programming all the interactive bits—sensors, back-end systems, you name it—and crafting real-time visuals with particles. It’s as fun as it sounds.
Now, about the name QBK. During the COVID lockdown, I built a mobile app using Python and Dart to help streamline loading and unloading gear on tour.
The name “QBK” (kuː-biː-ka) comes from AV jargon used to describe the most efficient way to load flight cases—basically, Tetris for roadies. The name stuck, and here we are.
When I’m not geeking out on work stuff, I’m either hanging with my little girl, coding something random, diving into economics, or climbing anything I can get my hands on.
