Guitar Fender History inspired video mapping
PROCESS
Tools: Resolume Arena, Premiere Pro
As a passionate hobbyist and 3D artist, I decided to combine my love for music and visual art by creating a video mapping project on a white Fender guitar. This project was a tribute to Fender’s rich history and its iconic guitars, blending storytelling with dynamic visuals.
The video mapping transformed the guitar’s surface into a canvas, showcasing:
A timeline of Fender’s history, highlighting key milestones and innovations.
Visual representations of Fender’s most iconic guitar models, such as the Stratocaster, Telecaster, and Jaguar.
Dynamic animations and effects that interacted with the guitar’s shape, creating an immersive and engaging experience.
Content Creation:
I designed and animated all visual assets, ensuring they aligned with the guitar’s contours and proportions. This included creating 3D models, textures, and animations that celebrated Fender’s legacy.Video Mapping:
Using video mapping software, I meticulously aligned the visuals to the guitar’s surface, ensuring a seamless and realistic projection. The process involved calibrating the projection to match the guitar’s curves and edges perfectly.Interactive Elements:
The visuals were designed to flow dynamically across the guitar, creating the illusion of movement and depth. This included transitions between historical moments and iconic guitar models, as well as subtle effects like glowing fretboards and shimmering finishes.
One of the biggest challenges was ensuring the visuals aligned perfectly with the guitar’s shape while maintaining clarity and impact. Through careful calibration and creative problem-solving, I achieved a stunning result that brought Fender’s history to life in a unique and memorable way.
This project was a labor of love, combining my skills in 3D animation, video mapping, and motion design with my passion for music. It was a rewarding experience to see the guitar transform into a dynamic storytelling medium, and it sparked my interest in exploring more interactive and projection-based art in the future.
